The Red Island Battalion is a narrative Campaign that is being fought by Members of the PEI BattleTech Facebook group here.
The goal of the Campaign is to explore the BattleTech world, and link together battles and events to breathe deeper meaning and enrichment to the game. The Campaign was started in October 2021. Campaign Overview and background: The game centers around the Hodge podge of contracted forces that garrison remote Cross Technologies Hydrogen Fuel production plant. This plant is situated in a foliage dense valley on the smallest of three continents of Anywhere Prime. The group is not so much a singular unit, but instead a grouping of 8 individual MechWarrior's, a battalion of infantry, a rudimental smattering of support personnel, and a singular pilot. Although odd, that Cross Technologies did not contract a singular unit to Garrison it. The work is incredibly dull, and there are restrictions on air traffic in the area due to the nature of the plant, and collection systems. This means that most people will have to travel either via naval ship, or to the nearest city with air traffic Nevsky Bay some 135 Km away.

The facility sits at the mouth of a large sparsely populated valley. The Cross Technologies facility is made up of a large main processing plant, a nearby naval loading dock where all shipping of fuel is done, a small grouping of residences for the workers of the plant. There are other locations scattered across the valley, that include a dozen massive storage systems that have been integrated into the nearby mountains each one is the size of . There are miles of collection and pumping stations across the valley that need routine patrolling. The continent is continuously battered by storms, and is thick with vegetation.
Overseeing loading of the fuel for transport.
Routine patrolling and defense of All Cross Technologies facilities and personnel in the valley.
Emergency rescue / defense / evacuation services of Cross Technologies personnel and equipment on the planet.

Summary:
Investigation of a clandestine airfield, Discovered that forces Identified as New Horizon Industries, and were landing Planet Lifter aircraft. 1 Mech (Enforcer) - and multiple combat vehicles located on site.
This was the first taste of combat as a unit, and they preformed stunningly. As such a unit name was born... Crossroads Securities.

In anticipation of soon-to-be arriving Thumper artillery's combat units, the members of Crossroads Security was supervising the construction of a Forward Operating Base, where the artillery's could be positioned so they could provide fire on the New Horizons airfield.
During construction the Boomerang Spotter Plane located a number of New Horizon units deploying sensors in Cross Technology Property. A sharp engagement was initiated, captured a stinger and Shadowhawk. The Enforcer escaped and is moving to attack the Crossroads Ground patrol. The Wolfhound and Mongoose have been dispatched to harry the Enforcer, and provide time for the Ground patrol to get back to the F.O.B.
